I enjoy making and modifying things. Here are a few of my recent projects.
Humanoid Robot

I worked on building an open-source 3D-printed humanoid robot named InMoov for my B.S. capstone project and some grad school robotics classes. InMoov was designed by the French sculptor and designer Gaël Langevin. Make your own! inmoov.fr
I worked on many different systems and will make separate posts dealing with various parts.

Embedded ARM Assembly Projects

I took a couple of microprocessor classes at Portland State University that focused on an ARM processor, specifically the one found in the BeagleBone Black. I spent so much time developing, debugging, and documenting those projects that I thought I should put them here.

EBCDIC to ASCII converter (Coming Soon)
Kinect Control for Windows Desktop

I wrote software using the Kinect SDK v1.8, C#/.NET, and Microsoft Visual Studio. The software used the Kinect API for gesture sensing, audio analysis, and speech recognition to control a number of things in the Windows environment using the .NET framework. Some functions included taking over mouse control, opening/closing programs, switching windows, and accessing menus. Featured is an image drawn in paint with my hands.

Keezer

I bought a chest freezer from a friend and built a keezer (Keg Freezer) out of it. This project combined wood working, electronics, plumbing, microcontrollers, programming, and BEER!
Microwave and RF Projects

I took a microwave circuit design class at PSU and made a few things including a microwave filter, a Wilkinson splitter, and a terminated coax cable.
Microwave Stuff (Coming soon)
RFID Ignition
My car’s ignition switch crapped out, so I replaced it with a RFID based Arduino project.
Ignition (Coming soon)
MATLAB Spectrogram

This was a project in a Fourier analysis class I took. It makes a real-time waterfall style spectrogram of an audio source. This was my only time designing a GUI in MATLAB, so its a little rough but there are a number of settings that you can change to affect the analysis and presentation.
Scotch Bottle Lamp
Why waste such nice packaging when it will make a weird light? There are two 15W florescent light bulbs wired in parallel in the bottle. This was an interesting build that took longer than I thought it would. Drilling glass is difficult. Soldering wires in a glass bottle is also difficult.
USB NES Controller

Playing The Legend of Zelda on an emulator on my computer made me want a USB NES controller. Building stuff is usually cheaper than buying it so I gave it a shot.
CNC Machine

My brother and I are designing and building a large 3-axis CNC machine. We are part way through the process and have gone through many different designs before settling where we are.

Folding Table

I saw this on Reddit and had to make my own. The table that I based mine on is from a company called Duffy London. I used red oak for the legs and supports and pine for the top. If I had to remake it I wouldn’t used oak for the whole thing.

Miscellaneous

Here are some pictures of random things I’ve helped build.
